PROGRESSIVE, INDEPENDENT CAMPAIGN FOR NEW HAMPSHIRE'S 1ST CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT
May 22, 2025
NEW HAMPSHIRE — Matt Giovonizzi is running a progressive, independent campaign to represent New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District.
“It is time that someone pushes back hard against DC norms that hurt regular, working-class Americans. We need leaders, not donor-sponsored order-takers. We need courage of convictions, not political calculation to bring in the next campaign check.”
Matt believes that the current two-party system needs to change if our nation is ever going to work for its people instead of corporations, and he is prepared to challenge the establishment in DC to make that a reality. He does not come from a background in politics, will not bend to the authoritarian rise in DC, and will not be influenced by corrupt super PAC funding.
“I want to fight for a future where every person has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances. My focus for the campaign and in Congress is inclusivity, transparency, and accountability.”
This campaign is a grassroots effort that is focused on the voices of the people. In District 1, Matt is active in the fight against the oligarchy currently in the White House, attending weekly protests in his community, including Hands Off! in April 2025. And, across the state, he advocates for an end to the unconstitutional and unethical deportations and detentions happening in our nation by pushing anti-ICE cooperation.
“Americans deserve leaders who fight for our rights. And we all have a right to housing, to food security and quality education, to living wages for our labor, to a justice system that isn’t against us for the sake of the wealthy who also fund it. We all have a right to healthcare that is accessible and comprehensive, that is universal, that includes a woman’s right to choose, gender-affirming care, mental health services, and prescription drug coverage. I’m ready to fight for these rights and end the disconnect between what voters want and what politicians prioritize.”
Matt has lived in the Lakes Region with his wife Ellen for almost 20 years. They love the area they have chosen to make their home and share it with their parrot, Nellie, and two dogs, Maggie and Daj.
